The Roman OTIUM in the BATHS of CARACALLA

The area surrounding the Baths of Caracalla, built between AD 212 and 216 and wonderfully conserved, is situated inside the Aurelian Walls, to the south of Colosseum and Circus Maximus. Once frequented by Ancient Romans, the baths offered facilities for exercise and bathing, as well as providing a setting where scholars could meet and enjoy conversation.
